When Nightbloom and I got to the Post Office, Trust, Mirhandrax and Purrzhon were already outside. Trust and Mirhandrax were already talking but Purrzhon was on the other side of the square from them, sprawled out and napping on a polished wood bench.

I bounced over to the Sleeth. "Hallo Purrzhon I found us two more warriors and a healer so we're all set!" I beckoned to Trust and Mirhandrax. Nightbloom was giving Purrzhon a funny look. Trust seemed nervous, half-hiding behind the Gormorror's bulk as Mirhandrax strode to our side. Mirhandrax was wearing steel chainmail over leather now and had a great axe slung across his back. I'm not sure if this made him more impressive or not but only because I'm not sure if it's possible for Mirhandrax to look more impressive. He makes Nightbloom look small.

Mirhandrax gazed down his thick brown muzzle at Purrzhon. "This is your employer?"

"Yes! Everyone this is Purrzhon. Purrzhy, the red and white Cani is Trust he's the healer and the giant is Mirhandrax and the navy Herethroy with grey swirls is Nightbloom they're warriors. Did you still want to go today?"

Purrzhon sat up and yawned hugely. His tailtip twitched as he looked over the four of us.

Trust peered around Mirhandrax. "A Sleeth? We're working for a Sleeth?" Trust yipped.

"You did not say. We would be working for a Sleeth.," Nightbloom murmured to me.

I always forget that some people like some Primes better than others. "You hire the three different people and you do not tell any of them for whom you are hiring?" Purrzhon arched his whiskers at me. "What do you tell them?"

"Um I forget. That I needed people for an adventure and that there was a thirty lozen advance I think? Nobody really asked for details and I was in a rush," I said. Trust, Mirhandrax, and Nightbloom all looked kind of embarassed, shuffling their feet and not looking at anyone in particular.

Purrzhon was amused. He stretched out on the bench, raking his claws over the wood and sticking his butt in the air. "You are working for the Sleeth," he told the others. "Is this the problem?"

Trust rubbed the back of his neck and didn't say anything. Nightbloom leaned down to ask me, "Delight-in-Justice, do you know this Sleeth?"

I nodded vigorously. "Sure I went swimming with him a few days ago he's an adventurer from Ulmarn Mene and he's in Vheshrame to commission an enchantment which I'm sure isn't done yet but he just got a leaf today letting him know about some problem back home I think and that's what he needs our help with."

Nightbloom and Trust looked a little reassured. Mirhandrax was still looking at Purrzhon. "What are you hiring us to do, Purrzhon?"

The Sleeth hopped off the bench. "I have the home in Remorshka Woods. It is in the wilds, not the city, so when I come to Vheshrame I leave the this and the that to protect my home while I am gone. Today I learn that the this and the that are not enough; my home is robbed and all my possessions are stolen. The robbers send me the leaf telling me this. They think that I am paying them to give me back what they take." His tail lashed. "But I am not paying robbers, rrai! I rather pay a thousand lozen to adventurers to help me in finding and tormenting robbers so they learn not to rob the Sleeth, than a terch to robbers so that they learn to steal from the Sleeth whenever his tail is turned. This I am hiring you for." One of the leather bags on his harness untied itself, and Purrzhon twisted his head to pull out three ten-lozen pieces which he handed to me. Well, mouthed to me, technically. Then he looked at the others. "Unless you are waiting for the employer who is not the Sleeth to hire you instead?"

Trust gave me an uncertain look and I responded with an encouraging nod. Mirhandrax said, "It's a worthy cause." Nightbloom just gave a little shrug and held out a midhand for her advance.

Finding and tormenting, eh? I guess robbers deserve it.

I don't see what's the issue with working for Sleeth, anyway! <_<

So remember when I mentioned those social things about how the nearest analogy would be working to lower workplace discrimination against khtsoyis, and you said, as near as you could tell, no one was working on that? Why don't you start a movement or two?

Sometimes the point isn't to make an immediate change, sometimes the point is to start an idea.

A sensible sort of reason. I'm beginning to get something of that attitude myself.... though for me, I'm sure it won't last.
