22 Lage 4385: Void-Dancer
Jun. 25th, 2010 07:57 amVoid-Dancer was all dressed up in the formal black robes of a priest of "Here", with elaborate black-on-black embroidery and the cowl pulled low over his face and nothing showing but the tip of his dark nose, but he's my brother and I knew him right away.
"Voidsy!" I jumped to my feet.
"Sister." He sighed and leaned against the door frame. "What are you doing here?"
"Waiting for you!"
Mask of Infinity looked between us and then he patted my hand. "I shall leave you to your little family reunion. Delightful as always to see you, my dear. Feel free to stop in any time."
I beamed at him. "Thanks Mask of Infinity!"
As Mask of Infinity left, he paused and said something to my brother that I didn't catch. Void-Dancer nodded respectfully enough but I could tell by the way his nose wrinkled up and his shoulders tensed that he didn't like it.
But he pulled his cowl back and walked over to me. Void-Dancer is my brother by blood, but he doesn't look much like me. He's more weaselly, with a long pointy muzzle. His fur is all black (not naturally) but his eyes amber, like mine. "What do you want?" he asked.
I gave him a big hug. "It's about the scroll, the one you consecrated for me."
He tensed further instead of hugging me back. "What about it? Oh blood and boils, don't tell me. You screwed it up and want another one. No. I'm not doing that again for you."
"No no no." I let him go and stepped away, swishing my tail. "I finished it! It's wonderful and amazing and even better than I thought it would be!"
Void-Dancer eyed me warily. "Is it now."
I nodded lots. "Uh huh! It's so much better that I don't even see how I could make it so I think "Here" must have done something so I wanted you to have a look. Also it might be dangerous since extradimensional nonprimes and Primes from the past oh and Sythyrs well zie's not dangerous but the others might be and they're all writing in it."
Void-Dancer slumped into a chair and covered his face with one hand. "Sister. What have you done this time?"
"I made an awesome enchantment blessed by "Here"! Oh! And there's a favor I hoped you would do me ... " I opened the preservation cabinet to fetch out the basket.
"Another one?"
I opened the basket and took out the hoshgrain cakes and sweet riverbeetles. They steamed in the air, scenting the room with spice and honey. "I made waaaaay too much food for lunch would you please help me eat it?"
Void-Dancer glared at the food and then at me. It's one of his very favorite meals and I know he never has it any more. He doesn't even eat lunch because he says self-denial makes him stronger and indulgence makes him weak.
I swished my tail again and gave him a pleading look, putting one of the dishes in front of him along with a fork. "Pleeeeease?"
His stomach rumbled. "Fine," he grumbled and picked up the fork.

Date: 2010-06-25 05:48 pm (UTC)... okay, the time before the puppet show I'd maybe kind of botched a The Safest Hiding Place and asked him to get Tansy-leaf's cat back out of it. And stop anything else from falling into it. When we couldn't get them back out on our own. But it wasn't really a disaster or anything! It only took a few hours of spell-weaving to fix.
