[[ Delight's translator is on vacation for a week starting today, so this is the last Delight entry until next Thursday. Enjoy! ]]

Branner, Faefen and Outcast went to the leader of Branner's clan in Ulmarn. Branner and Faefen were the only Cani left of his immediate family -- all of his other mates and pups had gotten killed. By a different group of bandits than the ones we fought and he'd been working for. There'd been a sort of turf war between the two and Sharone had picked up Branner who wanted to avenge his family. By the time he realized Sharone's group was just as bad they already had Faefen has hostage. Anyway, Branner asked his clan leader to find a foster home for Faefen and then turned himself over to the mercy of the Ulmarn city guard. Outcast stayed with Faefen for several days so she'd have someone familiar around that she was already bonded to, and to make sure she'd be all right in her new family.

Ulmarn's Dangerous Court sentenced Branner to two years of indentured servitude in one of the merchant houses of Ulmarn so at least he's not exiled and he'll get to see his daughter now and then.

The reason I know about all this is that we're all still in Ulmarn. Well, Nightbloom and Mirhandrax and Trust and I are. We're still finding buyers for what's left of the loot. Purrzhon took his share a few days ago and left with Squidge to go back to his home. He said we could keep whatever we got from the remaining sales as a bonus which was generous of him. Windchime and Chain Lightning flew off yesterday after they got Ulmarn's blessing or at least grudging acquiescence. Purrzhon paid for my healing before he left and I'm feeling pretty much all better from being killed and nearly killed last week.

I've been doing most of the trying-to-sell stuff and mooooost of the stuff that was worth selling is sold now except the Insidiously Convenient Cupboards. I had thought about having stuff hauled back to Vheshrame to sell because I know more merchants in Vheshrame and also foreigners everywhere get worse deals than locals. But then we'd have to pay Vheshrame's adventurer's tax and we already paid Ulmarn's. Also the enchanting family that creates Insidiously Convenient Cupboards is local to Vheshrame so in theory I should get a better price here. I've had a few tentative offers but one was for wayyyy too little and one didn't want them when he found out they were loot and the third changed her mind about how to remodel her bedroom and didn't want them after all. I may end up taking the wayyyyy too low offer if we don't find a good buyer soon. I don't mind getting half on the lozen but getting a terch is ewww. Especially on something as valuable as Insidiously Convenient Cupboards. I'd be tempted to keep them myself except that they're worth more than my share of the loot, really. And I don't need them. Although they'd be awfully nice to have.

Apart from that we've been having some fun in Ulmarn doing touristy and vacationy stuff. Like Trust and I went to admire the statuary in Alderview Park. Which is hideous. It's a magnificent monstrosity of hideousness. It looks kind of like a pair of jack o' hooks and a gang of Khtsoyis disembowling or possibly merging with a houseful of distraught Cani. Oh, and the house is also being disembowled. I didn't know houses have bowels but apparently the artist thought it should. Anyway, admiring it is mandatory. It's an Ulmarn thing. So we did.

Faefen's new adopted family is related to Trust in some complicated Cani way like they're the same clan on his father's side and also his mother's sister-sister is the cousin of one of the parents in the longhouse. So they offered to take him out to this call-dancing thing and he asked me to come with him and I did. Call-dancing was kind of scary at first because they dance in these groups of eight with interweaving positions and what you're supposed to do depends on your position and gender and I thought there was NO WAY I'd be able to remember it all. But they gave me and Trust the same positions for the whole evening and the Cani with affan and dancing actually calls out every move as you're supposed to do it so you don't actually have to remember much. I was really bad at it anyway but so were Trust and Faefen and

Oops more later gotta go bail Mirhandrax out.

I don't think you need to pay advanturer's tax on things you adventure for outside the mene, do you? You need to pay import tax. Unfortunately, my accountant is in prison in Oorah Thrassen, so I don't have an expert to ask.

And yes, those cupboards ought to be worth a fair amount. Perhaps the locals are a bit nervous about Locador. They are wrong. I know a huge amount about Locador. I am very nervous about Locador.

I am not very nervous about Mirhandrax, somehow.

Do the cupboards sometimes consider it convenient to deliver things from outside the universe into your pantry or something?

Who did your new painting, Delight? Your, uh, 'stylized portrait' looks different than it used to!

Oh, so it isn't an in-the-tree person? A person from my world made it? Wow, precisely how much of our Internet are you browsing? Are you mostly limited to journals from this one journal... collection area that you are in, or have you figured out how to get to the rest of our Internet? I've linked you to specific places in the past, but I don't know much you have 'strayed'.

If you would like I can link you to some knowledge bases... encyclopedias and ways to search around and such?

((OOC: It looks like this isn't a completed entry -- there are some typos, and some parts that appear to be blank, like the amount they got from the sale and so forth..))

Maybe you should see if you can live in the Insidiously Convenient Cupboards. Then you'd be insidiously convenient to your friends! Do they need an orren? There you are!

... Mirhandrax needs bailing out? Oh dear.
