Mirhandrax getting turned into a pocker wasn't part of the plan. I mean we knew that they had a mage who could turn people into pockers or at least Mirhandrax knew because it'd come out during the interrogation and he was supposed to use all his cley for resisting if she tried to transform him. And he did resist the first three times but he couldn't get to her directly because the hall was blocked by mewellicaps and Cani thugs that he was carving his way through. And I didn't have line of sight on her to Nowhere Imprison her. So I teleported out into the hall to target her but then all of the bandits who couldn't get past Mirhandrax were trying to kill me so I could only try the one cast before I had to trigger my bound Change Places to go back to the bead I'd dropped in the kitchen. And she resisted my cast. Foo.

And the bandit mage got lucky with hers or Mirhandrax got unlucky resisting or maybe both because suddenly instead of a giant Gormorror all we had was a collapsing pile of chainmail and an axe and a little flightless bird hopping out of it.

Since pockers are teeny-tiny Mirhandrax couldn't block the doorway any more. The bandits swarmed over him and shoved Nightbloom to one side as they entered the kitchen and tried to get to Trust. I saw their healer come in and tried to send him nowhere but he resisted ARGH.

So things were not going very well for us.

Nightbloom and I scrambled to guard Trust and Trust stopped healing to concentrate on NOT GETTING SPLATTERED (very important!)

Then Mirhandrax jumped on top of the bandit healer and pecked his eyes out.

The bandit healer screamed and some of the bandits pulled back to help him fight off the pocker. But Mirhandrax jumped off the evil healer's shoulders onto another bandit and one of the mewellicaps missed Mirhandrax and bit the healer instead which made him howl more. Mirhandrax pecked another bandit's eyes out while they were still trying and failing to hit him. It turns out Mirhandrax is a pretty good fighter even if you take away his armor and weapons and strength and size I mean he was one MEAN POCKER.

The bandit caster had moved to the doorway to view the fight and was vainly trying to pocker-ize Nightbloom, too. Then Purrzhon leapt on top of her with all four sets of claws out.

About this time the battle started going well again.

Probably one of the toughest pockers you'll ever meet, too. I'm guessing a lot of bandits stayed dead this time around.

I don't think pockers are very mighty in combat, alas, but now I see one with a good Gormoror's skills can certainly be pretty effective tactically. Though I must say, not getting splattered is indeed very important.

I guess the healer didn't have a heal eyes spell? Or time to cast it maybe.

Did Mirhandrax make you all do 'fight as a pocker' drills after that?

Also: eeee, Purrzhon is as fierce as three sleeth!

Ahhh... if you know how to fight, you KNOW HOW TO FIGHT!

It doesn't matter what form you are in, as long as you can move effectively and have some weapon (natural or otherwise) capable of harming the enemy, you can fight!
