Kijii was trying to get into the Temple of Reflections in the Void again. Void-Dancer and I were in the entranceway watching him approach through a window overlooking the Verticals. I screamed and told Void-Dancer we had to run away, but Void-Dancer grabbed my hand and said, "No. First, you never run away from Kijji unless you want him to chase you. Do you want him to chase you?"
"Noooo but if we stay here he'll eat us!"
"No, he won't. Second, the windows in this hall are not teleport gates. He can't get through them." We watched as Kijji started to cast a spell. "And third, even if he were to cast a teleport spell to come here, the city wall would block him." Kijji finished the spell and popped out of existence in the window. The city walls gave a kind of little "clang" sound as he bounced off of them and reappeared back in the Verticals He looked dazed. "See? As long as you're inside the city walls, you are perfectly safe."
Then I was on the Winged Charger and getting ready for bed. Just before I fell alseep I remembered Void-Dancer's warning so I sponted a Kennoc Spiridor spell to let me see any disembodied spirits around and I saw Kijji trying to lay an egg inside of my brain. "Noooo!" I cast Thick Distance Armor but with Mentador in it to make more space between my brain and Kijji.
"Don't be silly," Kijji said, giggling. "How would a mentavore lay eggs? It'd have to be the idea of an egg. Just don't think of eggs and you'll be fine!"
So I cast a Destroc Mentador spell to obliterate the idea of a mentavore having eggs from my mind.
Kijji blinked at me. "That was kind of clever."
"What was?" I asked, since I couldn't remember what I'd just cast. "Hey, if I do something clever aren't you supposed to let me go?"
"Oh. Right! I'll eat someone else instead. That Cani's mind looked sweet."
Kijji drifted off through the door to the next cabin as I sat up screaming. "NOOOOO! Eat me! EAT ME!"
Which is when I woke up with Purrzhon leaning down from the top bunk to look at me. He licked his lips. "The shimmery purple orren is suuuuuure she is cisaffectionate?"
I threw a pillow at him.

Then I climbed out of bed and OW SO SORE ugh learning hurts and furstyling is not nearly as much exercise as adventuring. I limped over to the opposite cabin to make sure Trust was all right because that last dream was really creepy. Usually they're not that coherent. Or still make sense to me when I'm awake.
Trust was fine of course but since I'd woken everyone up by then they all wanted to know what was going on and I had to explain about the mentavore and show everyone Voidsy's reasons (a) through (h) on why I was just being paranoid. Even if some of them don't apply while I'm outside the city. Mirhandrax and Nightbloom and Trust were pretty worried at first but they calmed down by the time I explained about Sythyrs not being worried about the monster either. "We are going to the wilds," Mirhandrax said to Trust, patting his shoulder. "The World Tree is full of dangerous monsters, some even moreso than this one. We will prepare as best we can, and face what comes with courage."
Trust seemed to find that comforting. Sometimes I think it must be nice to be Cani and have faith in the leader as long as he's confident.
Nightbloom looked kind of nervous still. The Sleeth had gone back to sleep already.
"As long as we're all up," Mirhandrax said, overlooking Purrzhon's absence, "we might as well start practicing."
